I would like to share some facts about the importance of supporting startups and small business in our region:

In December 2011 Forbes Magazine ranked 100 US Metro Areas for Job Growth in 2012 and Spokane was ranked in last place along with Fresno, CA. (Unlike)
Small business (50 employees or less) creates 70% of new jobs.
According to the Kauffman Foundation, startups create most of the jobs in our economy.
Only 20% of new companies survive after the first 5 years.
Approximately 87% of companies succeed if they receive coaching or mentoring.
There are numerous organizations here to assist startups but there is no single source to help direct people to the resource that fits their needs.

We think it’s time to fix this.

On July 25th LaunchPad and our partners George Gee Auto and Connect NW, will be hosting a summer quarterly event celebrating the official kick-off of a new program called Launch Spokane.

The Launch Spokane Program will make it easier for entrepreneurs and startups to get access to critical resources and mentoring they need for their idea or business to succeed. More information will be made available at this event.
